Max Katz, Broker and Owner of the Baja Real Estate Group gives a snapshot of the Baja real estate market at the end of 2017

 

Hi, I am Max Katz, Broker and owner of the Baja Real Estate Group. First of all, I would like to thank all my clients and friends for being there for another wonderful year!!

Also, to our amazing staff and field agents!! We have all been very busy this year. Our team has become ever stronger. We take great pride in our ethics, work habits, and outstanding local expertise.

In 2017 our relationships have strengthened even further. During this year, our referrals of buyers from US agents were at an all-time high, all with the same scenario: – “I have a client selling their home in the US and they would like to relocate to Rosarito”. Once again, the ability of Americans to take advantage of high US home prices has been good for both retirees and for our Mexico Real Estate. This is not a new trend. It has been steadily increasing over the last 5 years.

This year we have seen a big upswing of buyers moving straight from their US home into their new home in Mexico. Fully retired. We do not see this trend changing in 2018 Realtor. Com recently published an article on the US housing market prices, acknowledging high home prices, and while a price correction could be in order they don’t see a bubble anytime soon.

Favorable pricing allows many retirees the ability to relocate near the ocean with money in the bank. 2017 has also been a good year for sellers in Rosarito. Sellers are taking advantage of the market demands, experiencing less time on the market, and sometimes reaching close to our even full asking price. Getting our listing to market is not just taking fabulous photos, sending out lots of newsletters, and being available for showings.

Each one of our listings has a different strategy. From pricing, to which Agent we choose to represent the property, and most importantly and as always… we are keenly focused on sellers’ paperwork. Here at the Baja Real Estate Group, we work on our listing as a team. We do our due diligence ahead of time. If you are considering listing NOW would be a good time to list your home for sale to take advantage of the steady market.

Over the last 6 months, we have seen our existing developments t benefiting from the current real estate trend. La Jolla is building, Palacio Del Mar is wrapping Tower 2 and Calafia Condos are adding a 2-story parking structure for Tower 3 owners. It is also worth mentioning that the Calafia Homeowners’ Association is also busy upgrading some of the common areas and Tower 1 is doing major exterior work, with more to come in 2018. A very welcome sight.

This year we have continued to welcome new buyers and have shared much of the excitement of our slice of paradise. With over 25 years in the area, we have also had to say some very hard sad goodbyes in 2017, but as we have learned over the last 25 years.

No one truly leaves Rosarito far behind We sincerely thank everyone that has helped make 2017 a great year.

We as a team are excited to get started for the new Year… It should be another good one!! I
